French Fling – update

Thanks to everyone who came to the event last night – we sold out and had a fabulous time. Everyone enjoyed great music, a wide variety of wines to taste, amazing food and some great auction items.
I can’t wait to post more details. I am completely overwhelmed by how much support we got last night and by how much fun everyone had. Thank-you so much. I can’t even tell you how much it means to me. Love, love, love to everyone for your support, kindness and willingness to drink wine for a good cause.

It is time to French Fling!

Yes this blog about our life with Cystic Fibrosis. That makes it a blog about life. What is life without a little fun? Well I say let’s not find out – instead let’s drink wine!

October 28^th I am proud to be the Chair for the French Fling, a French Wine tasting in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada . French wines will be featured from many regions of France. Oh and of course French food – from La Persaud home to international award winning Chef Emmanuel David. What would all this French flair be if we didn’t wrap it up in a delightfully French venue like La Cité Francophone.

The night wouldn’t be complete without a little live music. A bit of a deviation from our French theme Tangele draws from styles ranging from Flamenco to Tango to Jazz and can be described as rhythmic and fun. Check them out.

Just in time to get some early Christmas shopping done – our silent auction has a little something for pretty much everyone. There is way too much to mention but some of the items including hotel stays, a Via Rail trip to Jasper, jewellery, hair products, hockey tickets, box seats to Oilers and Canucks…

Hold on to your hats fashionistas we will be auctioning off a package that includes hair by award winning stylist Crystal Brown of Ricci Hair Co, make-up and styling by the fabulous James Kershaw and end the day with a photoshoot from Lightart Photography.

Art collector? Mary Holdgrafer has generously donated a beautiful example of textile art. Mary’s textile art has appeared in national exhibitions in Canada and the United States and is held in public and private collections in Canada, the United States, Australia and Japan. Much of Mary’s art explores the topics of health and well-being while pushing the traditional definition of the quilt. I can’t imagine a more suitable artist to be featured at this event.

Yes indeed it is going to be a fabulous evening. Don’t think we have enough going on… I am also pleased to share that Lind Duncan MP and Mayor Mandel have RSVP’d to the evening. It is so amazing to have so many people supporting this event and Cystic Fibrosis.

Join us, delight in some wine, savour some fine French food and raise a glass with us to an amazing today and more tomorrows just like it.
